How to measure wind speed
Ultrasonic Anemometers Working Principle
The working principle of the sonic anemometer is to use the ultrasonic time difference method to measure the wind speed. Because of the speed at which sound travels in the air, it superimposes the velocity at which it flows up the wind. If the direction of the ultrasonic wave is the same as that of the wind, its speed will be accelerated; otherwise, if the direction of the ultrasonic wave is opposite to that of the wind, its speed will be slowed down. Therefore, under the fixed detection conditions, the speed of ultrasonic propagation in the air can correspond to the wind speed function. Accurate wind speed and direction can be obtained by calculation. Sometimes wind compass can be built in.

what our clients say
great companies we work with
Here are your concerns
What Is Ultrasonic Anemomete?
Ultrasound anemometer is mainly used to detect wind direction and speed by time difference method. No moving parts, long life.
How long does the ultrasonic wind sensor work?
Mechanical wind sensor’s life is generally about one year, and ultrasonic wind sensor life is generally 3-5 years.
Is the price of wind sensor based on ultrasonic principle lowest?
No, compared with the mechanical principle, the price of the ultrasonic anemometer is higher, but if considering from the comprehensive cost, its performance-price ratio is the highest.
After all, the later maintenance costs can not be ignored.
How to choose the best ultrasonic anemometer?
I suggest that you should consider the following aspects:
